Introduced in 1991 for the popular Suzuki GN 125 learner legal market, this relatively sophisticated SOHC engine gave just 11hp, which ensured it sold in all the 125cc markets of Europe. The U.K at that time had a 12hp ceiling on 125’s, and other countries had similar learner legal rulings. A popular machine with rider training schools and youngsters who were looking for the cruiser look. The GN125 was a better alternative to the CG125, which only had a relatively crude overhead-valve engine and less performance.
Production of this 107kg machine was mainly in the Suzuki plant in China, but still made up to Japanese standards. The Chinese manufactured models are still being produced at the time of writing, and still selling well.
Suzuki GN series for 125 started in 1991. A few years after the first Suzuki GN 250! And in those years, many things have changed. One of those things was to create a Suzuki GN 125! We gathered all the information on Suzuki GN 125 specs here. To better understand each model, I divided the models depending on the production year. So, ENJOY!

Interesting how you say the Suzuki 125 started in ’96, because mine is an ’91. And I can’t find much info on such.
